My passion for event planning started by watching my mother, Mildred Harris entertain her friends. She did everything with a smile on her face and lots energy in her execution. I was thirteen years old when I decided to host my first event. My younger brother was turning seven and the party had a PAC-MAN theme. I handmade all of the invitations and posters to coordinate with the arcade theme. It was a birthday he has never forgotten. I followed in my mother’s footsteps and began hosting many gatherings with my friends and family. From that moment on, event planning had been a major part of who I am and what I love to do!
I will never forget being told, “Find something that you love to do and create a career within that field, that way you will always love your job!” I did some soul searching and took that advice to heart. That is when I decided to launch my own business, Adlek Sirrah Events (“ASE”), planning and organizing successful events!
ASE is poised as an event planning business, but also has the ability to plan and arrange tasks for funeral services. The desire for ASE to have the ability to plan funerals came from a personal experience in 2010 when I planned my God-brother’s funeral to assist my God-mother and God-family. It is important to me, for every event that ASE is responsible for planning/executing, to touch the client in a special way. In planning my God-brother’s funeral, even though it was so personal and close to my heart emotionally, I was able to execute the plans (with the assistance of two family members) and plan a beautiful experience even with such an emotional connection. My desire is for ASE to perform as mediator between the person(s) responsible for the funeral and the family and funeral home.
ASE is equipped and knowledgeable about planning and organizing all types of events. Here is a list of other types of events that we are able to plan:
